There are sooooo many amazing resources out there nowadays for educating yourself about veganism. So for the days when you want to sit back with a cup of tea in front of the TV, I wanted to round up the best documentaries/movies out there at the moment.
This list includes documentaries/movies relating to health, the meat industry, animal agriculture, environmental impacts & more. I’ve included trailers so that you can get a feel of it before you actually watch it. And to make it better, most of these can be found on Netflix or youtube. Enjoy!
cowspiracy: the sustainable secret (2014)
Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret explores the impact of animal agriculture on environmental destruction. This was one of the first documentaries I ever watched relating to veganism and really helped me to understand the affect that the meat industry has on the planet.
Forks over knives (2011)
Forks Over Knives advocates a plant based diet in order to avoid or reverse several chronic diseases. I will always love this film because it was the documentary that turned me vegan back in 2014.
Okja is definitely one of my favourites and makes you look at animals as actual beings instead of just another number. Meet Mija, a young girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a fascinating animal named Okja.

What the Health is the groundbreaking follow-up film from the creators of the award-winning documentary Cowspiracy. The film exposes the collusion and corruption in government and big business that is costing us trillions of healthcare dollars, and keeping us sick.
Vegucated is a 2011 American documentary film that explores the challenges of converting to a vegan diet. It “follows three meat- and cheese-loving New Yorkers who agree to adopt a vegan diet for six weeks.”

Fed Up focuses on the causes of obesity in the US, presenting evidence showing that the large quantities of sugar in processed foods are an overlooked root of the problem.
